Hello.

I wonder if my transmission is a c4 or a c6 and what year it is.

The number I have find on it is:

RFC6DP-7A040

and

C6AP-7D027-C

Or is there any homepage I can get more information about this numbers?

Thanks.
Mattias

If the bellhousing is integral to the transmission case, it's a C6, if the bellhousing bolts on, it's a C4.

the bolt one bellhousing could also be an FMX, the easy way to tell the FMX is that it has a cast iron main case and aluminum bellhousing and tailshafts.

Yeah, but the C6AP number, I didn't think FMX's went back that far.

Try typing C6AP-7D027-C into Google and see what comes up.

Count the bolts on the pan. If I remember right

C4 has 11
FMX 13
C6 17

Ahh, a picture is worth a thousand guesses:

FMX's went WAY back, farther back into the 50's as the FM and another ancestor I don't recall. Last ones were 1982 castings.
