I need some help. My T-5 that I had swapped into my 76 Cobra II recently went out. I just found out last night that it was a T-5 for a Turbo 4 cyl. car. So the input shaft bearing retainer is different and no one has any to sell us. If I can't find a used retainer, it'll be around $700 for a rebuilt T-5 or, $800 to make it into a V-8 T-5.
What I need your guys help for is I need to know if the bellhousing from an 85 mustang(what we used to put the t-5 in my car), will bolt to the newer 90's T-5's? My local yards don't have any fox t-5's. I've tried to search for it on the internet but I can't find anything saying yeah or ney if they are the same. We need to use the 85 bellhousing because it barely fits as it is. I know that the bellhousings are different in shape, but I'm just hoping and praying that the bellhousing/case bolt pattern are the same.
