So, leaving school today my buddy blew up his tranny. We are pretty sure counter shaft is completly gone because the only gear that works is 4th, direct drive.....anyways, this is where things are gonna get a little complicated, its a volvo. But, it has a 2.3 in it....not sure how far back the platform and motor sharing goes with ford and volvo, but i was wondering if you guys knew anything about this that could help me and my friend out.....THANKS IN ADVANCE, your help is greatly appreciated. He said the stock trans is a E37 or something, and he said a T-5 swap was kinda common with his motor combo,. The car in question a 1989 244(?). It was a n/a car, but did the j/y thing and slapped the turbo setup off of another car into it...The motor visually looks like its a ford 2.3....honestly no clue, could totally be wrong tho.
