Does anyone know if tremac requires you to run a certian fluid in there tranny's? Or what does everyone use in them. I thought when i called asrto performance they said that tremac require's it in order not to void the warrenty. I tried to call astro again and there number is no good? And i suck at looking stuff up on the web. peace

As in two or so years ago, or older. The current gen of tremec TKO tranny comes in two basic forms: TKO500 or TKO600(the number corresponding to the torque rating or each respective gearbox). These are the ones Jeff is speculating about. The earlier generation models came in the old 3550 case: TKO, TKOII, TKOIII. These earlier variants of the Tremec 3550 specified GM synchromesh, though one could use synthetic. I also have heard that the new models are less picky about fluids.
Oh yeah, and the inner workings of the new models can be used to upgrade the older 3550-based models. I will probably upgrade my old TKOII with the TKO600 gear set. Otherwise, I will probably grenade the tranny at some point.:D

Thanks once again to you jeff! Bout ready to go put it in! The price wasent bad either! Well to me it wasent! Like D.D said thats a super low price to pay verse's a new tranny (trust me if anyone i know!)! See ya guy's tomorrow night going for the 12's!!!! peace
