all you tremec owners out there!!! how do you like them? ever blown it up? reason im asking is becasue im buying a certain 4.6 lol this is going to be my dd, I need a trans that will take lots and lots of abuse!!!

depends on what tremec your talking about. The only one i would ever buy is the tko600. Thats the one i bought. They are bullet proof

I've been running a 3550 for about 3 years now but never on slicks....it's held up to a lot of pounding though for being their bottom end model.

Looks like you should either get the tremec 3550 or the tko600. To answer one of the questions above, the t5 is just a t5. they dont hold up for drag racing or powershifting. Out of the box the tko trans and 3550's are best bang for the buck. You could easily put 800hp behind them
kewl, I gots to find one now, well two actually, the trans in the 96 is toast and the one in the 86 is toast lol, dam powershifting!!!
I have put TONS of abuse on my TKO. I run it at the track with slicks a lot and it hooks hard. The case had a small crack in it and the guys at Pro-Motion said it was pretty common for that to happen. I have been really satisfied with it overall.

oh yeah I know, ive blown then all up, im talking about bk_cauley's car, it just needs a trans, sittin about 1/2 mile from my house, as soon as my vert sells, ill go over and take it home wit me, that car is insane for a 4.6, I got to race a guy next fri/sat. he says that 8.0's are fast and that I cant beat him, well then Ill show him what a 7k rpm 4.6 with 315 mickeys on the back will do for my pony, if he wins ill bust out the 86gt, I know he aint beatin my 86. back on topic I dont have the trans that came out of it, I can get one though if ya want one.
btw: vendetta looks sooooooo much better with the 03's on it, might have to get me a set lol.

FYI, t-5's are either Tremecs or world classes, which is a tremec also.
And i just received a TKO600 pro trans 900 from modular mustang racing. Good for sub 9 second runs. Now that's a bullet proof trans.
