Drivetrain Tremec TKX 5-Speed

If anyone is going to buy one, I would recommend LMR or a tremec dealer who palletizes them like this . Worth the $100 extra.. MUCH better than getting one destroyed by UPS..... Will call would be the other good option....
or Hanlon motorsports unless Hanlon is going to be more expensive than LMR or someone else. I have not bought a trans before but depending on wha condition the 3550 in the car I bought in '16, when I pull it out sometime before the end of the year I'll see what shape it's in and also get it to a shop to check out. It had a few things going on with it that I want to check out but also could be a clutch and/or cable issue. The car will get a 331 soon so I'll be gonig thru it.

I guess I didn't know LMR carried them. I don't mind going thru a 3rd party vendor what so ever. I'm more curious if I should just bite the bullet and go with a 6-speed or stick with the 5-speed that can handle more torque?

Also, what gear ratio is right for me, and how would I know?
I called Hanlon this morning after not talking to them since around 2016 when I bought the 95 that's getting a 331. Good information Linda told me as to the tko 500 and 600 no longer being available or really parts for them and it's not the Tkx or T56. She told me the available gear ration options and now I'll ask the same thing, what gear ration options would I know that I need to pick is it mostly dependant on how you're going to drive the car and what it'll be used for mostly?

I'll do a 331 and the car will be a mostly weekend driver, streetcar only, no track. I have a 3.55 rear end that I'll swap in and will be running 18 inch Saleen wheels. Depending on what shape the 3550 is in and when I take it to a shop once what they say as far any repairs if it needs it then I'll know rather I need to get a trans. If I do I'll just go Tkx and who ever has the best deal going on and also military discount.....

Its been a while, but I "think" Hanlon sends them out UPS.....

hmmmmmmmm knowing them then seems like they might put on a pallet too. I'll google and see or call them. Ultimately it's going to come down to best price overall though; if I need a trans...:D

Here are some pics of where UPS "bounced" my NEW TKX on the input shaft during shipment on some concrete floors multiple times..
I called Summit, where I purchased it, and they said no problem with an exchange... I drove 8+ hours each way to the Georgia Summit facility and exchanged my transmission for another one personally in my truck.... Kudos to Summit for making this a painfree exchange...

It might of been OK, but I did not want to take the chance of finding ' something wrong" a few years down the road....

I believe so, but not positive. I thought I read you had to modify it slightly. You'll need a new mount anyway, and I was so far into it I wasn't going to skimp on the old crossmember and just bought the Stifflers.
Ok I'll inspect to see what the 3550 currently has.
