I loved my Tri-Ax shifter that I had installed in my 1999 Mustang GT and I plan to make it one of my first mods for my new one. It seems like the 2004 shifter is alot better than they were in 1999. At least I may get the 35th Anniversity shifter knob. Are there any other knobs that people like?

Just installled!!!

The shifts are more definite and shorter.
I did not install the inner shift boot or any extra insulation to the handle.
It is pretty noisy, especially when downshifting! sounds kinda like a NASCAR tranny
I think this is normal right? I know it is supposed to be noisy, but pretty nosiy?

I also had a small burr on the end of the shifter ball (at the bottom) where something must have knicked it. I filed down the burr so it would not mess up the little plastic clip that snaps onto it, so I hope it is OK

Where did you guys install the shift handle? in the upper or lower position?
