Trick Flow kits

I'm thinking about getting one of these kits along with a fresh rebuild .030 over. Which would be a better choice?

Track heat engine kit

EFI engine kit

I plan on going with larger TB, MAF sensor, and injectors as well. What sizes would work best?

The Track Heat kit will give you a little more room to grow and make peak power a little higher in the rpm range.

Personally IMO I would go with the Track Heat kit.

Trick Flow kit..

If you are planning doing mostly strip and high rpms driving, The
Track Heat is fine. You will have more aveage torque and a bit
stronger mid rpms engine with the EFI kit, who is great for street,
and strip...
I use the EFI kit and it works great. My set up is 75mm MAF,#24injectors,
70mm TB/EGR, and Cheramic BBK Shorties (Full lenght is better...)
Go for the Trick Flow Egr spacer. Gives you more room for FPR and meter.
GOOD LUCK with it..

When you pick your .030" piston, get yourself a TW specific piston. get something that'll get you around 10.5:1 with a 61cc head. With that amount of compression i'd use the track heat set up along with 1 5/8" longtube headers, 80mm maf, 75mm TB and 24 or 30lb injectors. I'd use the 30's.

I had the TFS street combo all out of the box stuff with junk shorty headers, a too small 65mm tb and I did 304hp/339tq with a cool down. A/F was dead on with my c&l 76mm mass air.

After many conversations with the folks at trick flow

I'm going with the efi kit. They reccomended that I use at least a 190lph in tank pump, 24lb injectors, 75mm maf, 65-70mm tb,and 1-5/8 headers. I believe that's all that they suggested in addition to the listed parts from the kit to achieve the posted results.

I've been thinking about this kit as well. However, I have been thinking about putting it all on top of a 10:1 347. I lean toward the Track Heat kit because the 347 makes plenty of torque and the extra runner length of the EFI kit would be unnecasary IMO. If I do this, I am going to have a custom camshaft ground for my combo.

For a street biased 302, definitly give up the 10 hp advantage the Track Heat has to gain the 20 ft/lbs. of torque that the EFI kit gives. 20 ft/lbs is better than 10 hp.

yea i got the street heat b/c thats what my car is going to be used for the street. Plus like one person already said i'd rather have the kit with the most tq imo.

The Track Heat kit is much better. I think that they are the same with the exception of the intake- if I'm thinking of the right kits. If you buy the kit with the Street heat intake you will eventually have to spend about $250 on the Track Heat upper anyway.

I am looking at the Trick Flow Trackheat "kit", but also looking at the Trickflow Trackheat spring upgrade for the heads. If you call Summit Racing, who owns Trickflow, I believe you can get the spring upgrade for like $125 or so on the kit. I plan on putting the Kit and Stage I kit on my 110K mile shortblock in the red coupe that's listed in the signature below. I also plan on upgrading the injectors to 30 lbers, an 80 mm MAF Meter, and a 75 mm TB. yeah, those are a bit big for stock shortblocked 5.0, but when it becomes a 331, I don't want to have to buy stuff twice.

I know that my hyperpathetic pistoned 110K mile shortblock will be on borrowed time, so I will have a supporting cast that with a little port and polish work on the heads should work just fine with a custom cam in a 331 stroker.

It's my opinion (remember that when you get ready to flame me guys). that out of the box, the AFR 165 and AFR 185 are both better heads for a 5.0 or stroker than out of the box TW Street or Track heats. That being said, I don't want to run AFR165's on a 331, nor do I want to or can I put AFR185's on a stock 5.0 shortblock. The Trickflow TW seem to give me the most versatile all round performance, and let me build up my car in 'steps'...also, by the time I have the TW heads or AFR heads hogged out, either one of them will flow the numbers and velocities that I need for that stroker motor.

I hope that made sese for you guys where I will be coming from.

I won't flame you but the TW out of the box is better than the AFR. The AFR flows a little better but the combustion chamber on the TW is much more efficient. Buying the better springs is a really good idea. It's worth the money IMO.
