Trickflow intake whistle

I have an 89 lx 5.0 and at idle the trickflow intake seams to be whistling rather loudly. Ive sprayed starter fluid throughout the engine compartment ot detect a leak and i found nothing. Is this just how this intake is or do I have a leak?

Sort of a defect, it doesn't affect every TB though. I just put mine on Friday and have the same whistle. Grinding it down tommorow

mine whistled too, I just rotated the vac tube 180 degrees and it solved that, but smoothing that surface is probably a good idea anyway

Aftermarket MAFs (c&l's and other alum. MAF's) have a tendency to cause a whistle as well.

I have had that happen too.

My issue was that when I put my TPS back on it broke. This caused the IAC to try to compensate for the unknown throttle position, which caused a loud whistle.

It was the air moving past the IAC that caused the noise. So check to see if your getting .7-1.0 volts on your TPS AND LET US KNOW

NicwoaC- is that defect in the picture a hole that i am supposed to grind down? ir is it a piece thats sticking up? if its a hole, how do i grind it down? just make it flush? thanks!
