1 of my friends is selling me his upper trickflow manifold for a good price. its ported though. so basically it has a little more flow to it. i was considering on getting a ported cobra lower manifold from another friend. now im wondering if this will be a good match and will it get a "direct" air flow ?

in addition im going to also purchase an edlebrock elbow and a bbk 70mm tb

how much is he looking to get? is he only sellin you the upper intake?... dont quote me but usually when you port an upper, i think youd want to port the lower to match air flow... usually keeping the manufacteurs the same... not sure how theyd work if its two different companies... i could be wrong...

if its a decent price, sure why not grab it... i grabbed my upper/lowers that looked absolutely brand new for 350 and the person who had them prior to the last person had them powdercoated... they were absolutely mint!

I personally wouldn't buy them mismatched like that.

the TFS upper and cobra lower are way different. the TFS uses more of a swuare port vs the cobras offset round ports. the bolt pattern is also different. it would be cheaper to locate either an upper cobra/gt40 intake or find a lower TFS

How about your plans for the future, what do you want the car to do and over what timeframe do you want to do it with? How about budget as well?

well im in a bit of a limbo for future mods since this is my DD. i want to take things 1 step at a time. with heads, im not quite sure if im going to get them. im thinking of a procharger or a single turbo kit. now im putting my focus on the intake.
im talking to my friend if he could sell me his trickflow lower. BUT heres the thing. i think the intake itself will flow too much for the stock E7 heads and will hurt performance

I'm liking the Cobra for the stock cam/intake and driver status that your cars is.

It works well with boost also.

A N Y brand of intake that is in the longest runner category can only
help your performance

In no way would those intakes hinder airflow with E7's

That application is the foundation of what the longest runner intake
is built upon ... Just like the OEM Cobra intake

You will feel a gain with a Cobra, TFS, or Edel intake :Word:

Like Wes said ... think about what you wanna do
and
Like you said ... this car is your dd
so
I'd tell you not to go too radical
