trouble with horns

the horns on my 66 quit working.
i get a faint wheezing at best. i've tried cleaning the metal where they mount to the core support to improve ground.

think they are fried or problem somewhere else?

when i push the horn button i mostly get a thump rather than any other noise

they could be the horns themself...one of mine grounded itself or something becasue my horns were weak...changed it out with an extra one and horns were load and clear.

One of mine was kaput. I sprayed a lot of WD40 in it and rotated it around to get it to the middle. Let it sit. Now it works.

Take a test light and use it for a load in lieu of the horn. If you hit the button and the light fires up, the horn is shot.
