Hi Folks;
Installed a new solenoid trunk popper in my 64.5. All went well, it works great! Until I re-installed the lock. Why i did not think of this before is a great question...but we're past that.

The lock mechanism and the shaft that roates the actual mechanical lock in the trunk doesn't rotate freely. It only will rotate when the tumbers are disengaged and the key is inserted. SO....................

There are several ways I thought of making this work but thought someone out here has done this before.

What year car? On a 66 there is a little lever on the trunk lock mechanism with a little hole in it where the optional original equiment trunk release cable goes.......simply attach the trunk popper (not pooper, I though you had ***** in the trunk) to it and it works like the factory unit but it is electrical instead of manual. I think this same lever is present on 67-68 cars but cannot confirm.
