Trying to find 79' body parts

I have a 79' and its a stock mustang that i am restoring. instead of the stock front bumper cover, i would like to throw on a bumper cover that the 79 pace cars used. now I was wondering if any after market companies make these? if not, does anyone know where a guy like me could find one, or does anyone know if they were used as a gt option for any of the early fox body mustangs?

also i know some of the capri parts are interchangeable to mustangs, does anyone know if any of the front bumper covers will transfer from a capri to a 79 mustang?

good luck finding that. There were only 2 Mustangs to wear that front bumper cover. The 79 pace car and the 82 GT. This is a 2 part cover, the upper which contains the grill and belt molding, the lower which is the air dam and side skirts. Now the lower air dam is also used on the 82-86 Capri RS however on my 82 RS 5.0L Capri it didnt come with one. It appears that Mercury offered this as an option and when I bought mine new I did not look for any options. In retrospect I guess I should have!

Try ebay if your desperate, those noses are hard to find in good shape. and if you do find one thats in good condition your gonna pay for it. those were found on the 79 pace car, 80,81mustang cobras, 82 gt,and capris. good luck

There is a guy on Corral that has been looking for that for the whole 2 years of his build. He has a NOS front cover, but it's just the stock 79. He wants the one you want. He can't find it anywhere. I think his name is 79Mustang351w.
