Trying to space out license plate, any idea on bolt size???

I located my battery disconnect where the license plate goes and i need to space out the plate a couple inches. Does anyone know the thread size of the licesne plate bolts so i can pick up some longer ones and something to space it out at home depot on my lunch break??

Im doing the same thing. What someone on here told me was to take the original bolts up to home depot or somewhere that sells allthread, get the thread matched, and just double nut the allthread into the holes, put the lisc. plate on and measure for your space. then just get some domed nuts, or something like that to secure it. ill try to whip uo a paint to show you what i mean.

here's another question...is the bolt on my 03 GT the same size as on the 93

I think theres only a few different lisc. plate bolts out there. the screw lookin ones, a metric size (pretty small) bolt, and a standard (bigger) bolt. i know taht if you go to a parts house, they sell the whole plasic insert and bolt kit if you end up needing that instead.... did that make sense?

ya that made sense. The only reason i asked was because i wanted to pick upi everything i needed before i take the trip down to pick up my 93. I'll take one of the bolt off my 03 when i get to the store and hope they are the same size...i'm pretty sure they are.

I pulled one of mine and was gonna match it up for ya, but I don't have that size. It appears to be similar in size to a 1/4, but the thread pitch is much more...looks almost like a screw

ya thats how i remeber it looking...just like a screw. Very weird that it doesnt have a machine thread. I'm gonna make something fit in there whether it likes it or not

sounds like you're away from the car now, so you can't take the actual bolts. What you could do is go to autozone and look at the license plates parts. You could either ask the "tech" to look up the size in the computer or it may have it labeled, but I have some skullhead plate bolts holding my back plate on on my GT. I had a set for the front sitting on my desk that i've never used, but now they're gone or I'd check them out for ya.

EDIT: Have not dynoed it, but I'd estimate the flywheel HP to be around 300ish and RWHP to be around 250ish. Never ran it either. It's never running well enough to actually drive it to the track and I'm afraid I'll break something if I do go lol

I might have it dyno tuned this summer at some point to see if i can squeeze a little more out of it and see if i am running lean or rich or anything in between. Like my sig says, i've run a nest of 13.8 at 103 and that was with crappy 60ft time. I would like to think it had some low 13's in it on drag radials it just never feels like it makes all that much power where i need it. I think the cam has something to do with it. I wish i had gone with TFS cam or a crane cam.

hey, when you go to the parts store, get one of the kits that has the regulart threaded bolts, then just size them up from there. i doubt you can get a screw that will hold the plate out that far without being wobbly
