turbo kit modification

I have been looking at my kit installed and have had a few ideas.
For one, my bypass valve is pressed right up against my fender. Would make mounting another BOV very difficult. Then I have wanted to convert to a fox body intake/throttle body setup. Lastly with the draw-through meter, it places the air filter low to the ground and exposed. Since this is an everyday summer driver, I would like to move it. So here is what I came up with.
With the fox body intake I should be able to creat enough of a straight pipe to the throttle body to mount a Pro-M bullet or universal. (Haven't researched this part yet) But whatever blow through meter would work best. Then I would be able to move and switch to a Greddy type S BOV and mount it pretty much anywhere there is room. With the meter gone then, I should be also able to seclude the air filter out of the elements more.
Whats everyone think? Any pros or cons to this? Would really like to hear some imput on this. Thanks
 
sounds fine and looks like you already have it figured out... kinda hard to picture everything together without pics.

the fox tb will give you a few extra inches, i dunno, i'd like some pics so i don't say something retarded like - why can't you just shorten the pipe to the maf so the filter clears fine

this looks a lot like a single kit and i can't help but ask why it's not on the apposite side... but i'm sure it's a twin, just can't see the other side

anyways, i see what u mean about the fox tb giving you that extra room. can't really see everything happening down there but it sounds like u've got everything in order already

doesn't march(or somebody) have a kit which relocates the alternator to the opposite side (don't know what it's like over there, and i think it's if u've already given up ur ps) because that would give you a ton more room

that's completely retarded (probably easier to cross over the tubes there and less tubing to route everything). a battery relocation would be much easier/nicer than trying to stuff everything on the passenger side i'd think.

is there anyway you could relocate it to the drivers side... i don't know if that's even an option but it would open up a lot of room, or even the alternator relocation like i said

i dunno, maybe it's just that i like things not to be all cramped together but if it works like it is now, i guess it's fine. luck :nice:

I would have loved if the turbo was mounted on the drivers side where the battery was. But it would be like starting over. The intercooler would have to be changed along with all the piping. :( I'd be better off selling the kit then.

hell no am i tryng to discourage you here, keep the thing, it'd be a lot of work the other way (of course ur gonna have to do some work this way too). i'd say throw on the fox tb and gauge what to do from there! they're relatively cheap to do a swap anyhow right?

edit: hmm, i just noticed u have the stock maifold which has the huge elbow, u'd have more room wiht the fox tb and an aftermarket manifold. besides, i think ur gonna need a new manifold to let all that air from the turbo in

u could also look into a stand alone system. all i know about this system is that there is no more need for a maf... worth checking up on. i researched it a while back and some will swear by it and others it has only given them problems.

just things to think about, if you already have a good idea as what to do, go for it
 
on the drivers side, you have to worry about the bottom radiator hose, PS line, brake booster, master cylinder, steering shaft, fuse box, and some wires... Keep it on the pass side since its allready there.

You'd have to start all over form scratch if you were to change the location of the turbo, plus theres very little room on the drivers side for a downpipe.

No worries, there is no way I'm selling this and starting over. lol :D I have plans to had a systemax II intake this winter with a fox throttle body. Hence the whole reason for this post. :nice: I just wanted opinions on whether I would be able to throw a blow-through meter on that pipe to have it work right.
 
If you actually look at the motor, it is easier to route the exhaust up the ride side. The left side has the AC compressor, and hoses in the way. Makes it tougher when you have to run a lot of exhaust pieces through there.

Perfectly logical to do so, but usually when they make a turbo kit, they usually make it to accomodate most stock equipment.
