Turbo Lag

I had recently asked for some info on getting a volvo fmic, and I received the replies that I was looking for but another thing that I was thinking about was turbo lag. Now if my SVO is stock and all I do is put the fmic on, how much longer will it take to boost up? Will I be able to notice the extra power with just the intercooler upgrade?
thanks

I guess I never understood the concept of the turbo air and the potential turbo lag but if it starts to boost around 2250 rpm, it should stay about the same? As of right now it's kind of a gradual boost up and I don't want it to just go and then all of a sudden boost up and me have to shift while it's just boosting up. I dont know...

Turbo lag would come from the exhaust side.
Upgrade to a header or ported manifold and larger free flowing exhaust to help with that.
Only other thing you will notice with extra intake piping is what is called trailer hitching when on and off the throttle.
This is where the bypass valves come in to play,
keeping the air circulating and not slamming back into compressor blades.
Some people choose and modify blowoff valves to work with the metered air system. This would be another topic.

Well my car does love the cool weather.

On another note; I lost my IC for a while when I put Rods header on, and noticed more power at 15psi no IC than when I had 18psi cooled.
So flow still has a lot to do with the equation as well.

There are no issues with slowing the boost response (not spool). It's been calculated out to be somewhere around .0014 seconds difference. If you can feel that I'll give you a cookie.

Maybe a slight increase in power, should run closer to how it runs in cool weather...the real power comes from the ability to up the boost because of the cooler air though.

G-90 mentioned something about "trailer hitching." Isn't that what that little boost solenoid cylinder looking thing with the two wires coming off of it is for? So could I use that front mount IC with the stock components and crank up the boost a little more with cooler air? Also, would I most likely have to make a header for my car?
