I want a 10sec turbo setup that i can drive anywhere?

Mods so far

10:1 pistons, 303b cam, 1.72 roller rockers, under drive pulleys, 65mm BBK throttle body, gt40 ported and polished heads, MSD wires and coil, Spectre Performance ram air intake, H pipes, sub frame connectors, 4.11 rear end.

looking at flow master super 40 mufflers, Garrett twin turbos, Air-to-water inter cooler, trickflow upper and lower intake manifold.

Any advice I can get will be great.
What size injectors? What fuel pump? What what size headers? What size mass air?

Well, first of all, it sounds like your compression ratio is to high. 9.5:1 is about the highest you could go w/ a super/turbocharger. First priorities is to lower your compression. Another thing, making all that power is great, but you gotta figure out how to hook up first...good luck with that...

Well, with a 10 second street car, your looking at a lot of money. Your most likely going to need an aftermarket block, 1 or 2 big turbos, 50#+ injectors, two 255lph pumps, fuel rails, and then something to tune it with.

Thanks!

Can I get by on less than 50#+ injectors? Would injectors that large be useable at street speeds? I also want to open the wast gates during the week for 0 boost. Hoping to keep the car drivable.

when cruzing the turbos wont make any boost so you dont have to do anything to the waste gates to get 0psi of boost....just dont floor it. you could get away with maybe 42# injectors and that 10:1 compression if you get a snowperformance methanol injection kit. it will lower temps along side the intercooler and will raise the octane way up allowing you to run boost on 10:1 compression motor.
large injectors are fine on the street if you can tune them. a properly calibrated maf is a must. with my 42# injectors, to get my car to start smoothly i had to pull out just over 40% cranking fuel to get the motor to start up like its stock. the larger the injector the richer the ecu makes the engine under cranking even if the maf is calibrated right

luckythirteen13 what is your compression and displacement? I want to use your car as a blue print.

Thanks nice page. I noticed you mentioned gas mileage when changing plugs. What is your gas mileage like?

I see a bunch of mismatched things here. If your honestly looking to run 10's then you need to do some research. #1 is suspension, your not going anywhere unless you do a lot of work with the suspension. ur stock rear end wont like the 11's, nevermind 10's, 4.11 is too much gear for a power adder car, compression is too high, realistically 8.5:1 is what you want, you will need big injectors, fpr, aeromotive external pump, flowmasters are garbage on turbo setups, too much backpressure, and whatever headers you use are going to have to work with the turbo's. to even come close to the 10's your gonna need a roll cage, built rear end, full suspension (drag style) sticky tires, some kind of different engine management ( stock ecu wont take well to boost by itself) Id sit down and really research what your trying to do here. those heads are not up to the 10's unless you run more boost, and id use a bigger throttlebody (70mm although you dont have to) Good luck

90LX306 thanks

I will slow down, and do this in increments. What is the best injector size for my current 65mm throttle body? I need time to research rear end setups.

My friends got a notch...60lb. injectors, 15psi from t-trim, stock ecu just with custom burnt chip and sct maf, runs good to drive on the street, starts right up etc...just likes to guzzle gas

and no offense but just do alot of research, 10 seconds is fast and doesnt exactly just take bolt ons or anything...just dont forget once you upgrade the intake (turbo etc. too) you need to open up the exhaust, then u have to make a better fuel system, with the more power youll need a good clutch to handle the power, then have to upgrade the trans so that doesnt blow apart, then the rear same thing...basically its a domino effect lol good luck

This is basically hopeless.

Doing the math my car is just to heavy. I can not reliably produce enough power. I will move my engine to a MUCH lighter body.

a while back there was a thread that had a miata with a 302 in it. you could alway stick your motor in one of those lol. that thing would be a motor with wheels

WTH?

Theres nothing wrong with 10:1 and a turbo, just got to run a little less boost,or a larger exhaust housing.

You'll probably at least need a new fuel pump (Aeromotive A1000 being my choise),55lbs injectors, calibrated MAF (unless speed density or DFI type aftermarket injection),and a custom tune.

A T70 should do it.

And do a serch on "Master Power" turbos.Better deal than Garrets.
