I read all the time that the best tune is a dyno tune and to have them burn a custom chip, even though it is a one time thing until you go back with more mods. Then I hear that a tweecer is best for us if we know how to tune well (which I don't) . What do you guys think? I mean, I do have a laptop that I could use solely for my car, but I'm not into spending hours upon hours tweecing, unless I will see major results. How much will I spend if I get a dyno tune, or if I get a tweecer?

You'll get a bunch of opinions. Basically, it's up to you. I choose not to rely on someone else for something I can do myself. I have the Tweecer R/T, and a wideband.....

Main benefit from Self Tuning is you got more options available to you.

Well like A50SN95 said, it's all opinions really, but I looked into both options and I am personally going with the Tweecer RT when funds permit.

so, does anyone know where else to buy the tweecer other than on www.tweecer.com? Or is that the only place? I tried to search and got nothing. I just imagine it would be cheaper elsewhere. And what is the main difference between the tweecer and the tweecer rt? Is it just more screens and options??? Thanks

Both are excellent choices. It all boils down to how often you think you will change combos. For me I am going with the dyno tuned cip only because once my combo is selected I am sticking with for awhile. Its like that rotissiere cooker, I just want to set it and forget it.

I'll jump in here and say that i wouldnt give up anything for my pre04 PMS and wideband setup. Its a cake walk for tuning.

You gotta research each one and decide which is the best for you. This question has been asked a million times and its just like asking "which mufflers sound the best". Depends on the guy listening to them.
I just love my PMS because its so easy to make changes on the fly and now with the wideband, i can see them instantly. It can get just as good of tune as the tweecer, chip, etc can. The only downfall is that it doesnt turn off EGR or adjust fan settings...which are easily done in other ways IMO.

When I had mine I had a SCT Chip burnt for it and it worked awsome. It was a flat rate fee of $400 for the chip and the dyno time. Reflashes were $100-$200 if you did more mods later on. If you have to get a reflash a few times then in the long run a tweecer would be cheeper but it brings up the topic of if you want to tune the car yourself or not. You will need a laptop and the know how and paitence to do it. There are alot of things that can be adjusted or messed up depending on how you look at it.

TwEECer R/T... got one a while back, and its awesome. You wil have to spend mucho time with it though, its just the nature of the beast. At least you know you need to do this, it kills me when guys buy all these go fast parts and ignore the computer that controls them all.

IIRC, the price is now about $550.00 for the RT.
You can click on the re-sellers link and ask them for the latest price I guess.
You don't want the base Tweecer as it won't datalog.
The datalogging feature is really what the Tweecer is all about.
The data in the logs is used to verify your tuning changes and it gives you a baseline to start from.

thanks final 5-0. I think I might just go ahead and get the tweecer rt. I spoke to the guy installing all my stuff and he said he knows someone who will dyno my car and then use the tweecer to tune it and show me some things I can do with it. Thanks to everyone who gave input!
