This mod ishould be good for 87-93 mustangs with the power mirrors in the corner of the door/window.

When I bought the 93 it had tweeter pods mounted on the door behind the mirrors.

I have never saw these for a mustang before and I have searched and searched for them to see who made them.

My search ended this morning. the pods came from a BMW. They are BMW Tweeter pods. You can find them on ebay starting out at around 20.00 a pair with the tweeters installed. On ebay just type in BMW Tweeters.

To fit them in a fox you have to modify them a little. remove a clip etc no biggie.
Heres a pic of them in my 93gt.

IMO this is a perfect place for a tweeter in a fox. It looks OEM.

That does make short work of a tweeter install I'd have to spruce it up for my interior though

Makes me think, even though I have some tweets behind the stock dash grilles. I may have to blame you if I come up w/a good idea to work with those.

Yup. with the mirrors on the door like you have it will not work. I had the newer doors on my 87 vert.

Wow, this JUST came up at my friend's house the other night.... We were all talking about what kind of system i'm gonna get in my 89.....

any of you know anything about Infinity speakers? my buddy's swear by them, and i like the way they sound in their cars, and have been wondering something - i know they come in three types (regular, kappa, and kappa perfect).. If you guys know anything about them what would you recommend for someone who's not getting an amp and just a head unit - the head unit has 50 watt capacity and the regular speakers are 180 peak watts.. wouldn't it make sense just to get those? OR, to mustangs come with stock amps? my lincolns both had amps straight from the factory, but my other friends' cars didn't come with amps at all. do the 87-93 mustangs have amps, and if so what are the specs on them?

They are decent speakers.

If your not going to go all out and run amps for highs lows mids etc I would not buy high end speakers unless they are priced super cheap.

My door speakers and rears are mb quarts they sound decent. The dash speakers are stock replacements.

That's awesome but won't work unless you have power mirrors, otherwise the mirror adjuster knob thing is in that spot.

Infinity is great! Nice full sounding speakers with crisp highs for not alot of cash The Reference series is not that hot but Kappa and Kappa Perfect are good, wish they still has Beta for car speakers. If you are just gonna run the decks internal amp it is only 17-22 watts RMS, the 50 is only peak. I would go with the Kappa Co-axials as they are efficient so they get fairly loud without alot of power and sound great. The Kappa perfects need a good amp, they sound great but need power to get anything out of them, same thing with Kappa components so co-axial would be the best bet. Also the car does have a stock amp that needs to be bypassed cause it sucks It is right behind the stereo and easy to bypass.

Oh yeah :OT:

I'm gonna say no, because the pod part that holds the speaker takes up the entire space that the adjustment knob and its "pod" sit.

This is a pretty poor pic but look just beyond the steering wheel and you can see part of it...it literally takes up that whole space so i don't think it would work unless you've got power mirros, unless you just don't care about adjusting the mirrors or figure out another way to adjust them.
