Two Problems!

So my first problem is that I can't put on my new Headman Headers on my 351C Stang, casue I cant get to the bolts in my tiny engine compartment. Is it easy to hoist the engine out and swap them?

Second, there is a clicking that seems to be coming from somewhere in the front of the engine. At first, I thought it was something inside my water pump, but I replaced it and it went away for about a month and now its back. Is it my timing chain? or did my pump just bust up again?

yes you can lift the engine up to get the needed clearance.

as for the clicking sound, does it sound like it is running at crankshaft speed, or is it slower than that?

I guess you have never tried to change the spark plugs in a 428.

The clicking sound does seem to be going at the same speed as my cam, clicking gets faster as a increase revs and the same case when I decelerate. If it is the chain, can I adjust it? or would I have to buy a new one? cause if I have to buy a new one I'm gunna wait till I get my new cam to swap that out

And 2+2, thats the only reason I am glad I don't have a 428, cause the spark plugs on mine always leave me with bloody knuckles!

ok a few possibilities;

1: it is possible that the timing chain is going south, and you can only replace it. i recommend a cloyes double roller chain as they are tough but inexpensive.

2: you could have a bad fuel pump eccentric or fuel pump arm.

3: if the sound is coming from the top of the engine you probably have a loose rocker arm or a dirty lifter. the rocker arm you can adjust, the lifter you need to clean out with the rest of the system.
