My dad and i are working on a 71 fastback and i plan on painting it orange and white with orange being the primary color of the car. My dad was trying to think of a way to incorporate the two colors under the hood and under the car. one idea he had was paint the firewall and the rest of the undercarraige white and from the firewall to the front paint orange. im just throwing the idea around. any ideas would be appreciated.

do some pinstriping instead. the firewall and the rest of the engine bay a diff color could be really hard on the eyes. how about orange with some white pinstriping and white details on the engine itself. maybe paint the block and heads orange and have the valve covers, air cleaner, etc painted white.

Orange and white in the engine compartment would be tough to pull off and look right.

I think to start out with all orange sheet metal and block, heads and intake to start out with. Chrome valve covers, aircleaner, alternator, accessory brackets and water pump. White coated headers, plug wires if you could find some, wire looms, MSD box, you might be able to find some white shrink wrap, but I think it'd tend to get dingey looking. White suspension never looks too good and there's not that much to see in that car anyway from under the hood.

If you did some type of stripes on the body, you could carry them thru to the engine compartment.
