i got the pullies from ford racing, and it came with some good instructions. however, we are not able to turn any bolts without spinning the pully. i still have the belt on so in the case all the bolts are spinning. the only one we are having trouble with is the alternator pulley. also, the crankshaft pulley has some kind of lock ring dealy in the middle, will the pully still come off just by taking off the 4 bolts? instructions also recommend an air gun for the alt. pulley. is this because it is sitting so tight, or because it will have the burst of power needed so everything else doesnt spin?

i bought march pullies, i had no problem with the crank pully, used a ratchet & socket,i havent put my altenater pully on yet, but i change them at work all the time, just kind of hold the blades & use a impact, i need to do that next week, lol, i have a 95 gt vert by the way. hope this help's.

Try leaving the belt installed and using an impact if you have one.

an impact is needed for the alt pully because the bolt is right on the shaft that spins.

most people dont install the alt pully to avoid any charging issues (at most youll lose 1-2hp by not changing it)


the crank and WP pullys came right off for me, only problem i ran into was i had to scrape a bit of powdercoating out of the center holes on the pulleys to fit better

the belt was on...

for the ppl that left the alt. pulley on, you didnt experience any problems with the lenght of the belt?

Yup! should come off with just the 4 bolts. I beleive the clip thing your talking about is for the harmonic balancer.

for the alt pulley I ended up taking off my belta nd using a craftsman strap wrench to hold the pulley... Worked really well...

i got the others off, and i thought of the strap wrench as well. ill let you know how it turns out this afternoon once i run down to home depot

it worked well, but i had the aid of an impact gun. damn theyre useful

When using street underdrive pulleys it`s best to NOT install the bigger alternator pulley that comes with them as you are pretty much guaranteed to have poor idle speed charging with moderate to heavy accessory loads...leave the stock alternator pulley on and if that`s not enough at idle speeds you can get a smaller than stock "overdrive" alternator pulley from auto specialties for better low/idle speed charging with street underdrive crank/water pump pulleys.

its not bad. the volt meter goes down at stop lights but it charges fine when im moving. the only thing i dont like abuot it that my top goes up really slow, same with my windows and my stearo isnt as loud. oh well, it looks cool
