UFC 83

Considering how ridiculously good GSP is at takedowns, I don't think he would even consider standing with Silva. Not to say that he couldn't hold his own, but there is an obvious height disadvantage, and the weight that GSP would have to gain would no doubt make his strikes slower.

I do think that GSP could take Silva on the ground. But it's not really an optimal matchup short of the fact that they are two of the greatest fighters in the UFC right now.

When Silva isnt training, he typically weighs anywhere from 200-210 pounds. GSP is closer to 185-190. A difference of 20 pounds is pretty big. I've a huge fan of both guys, and would love to see it happen. GSP said he would be willing to do it, but only as a dream match up kind of thing, not necessarily for titles. I think after GSP cleans out the WW division he'll just move up and challenge at that time. I don't think I could pick a winner for this fight, nor would I want to.

As far as Starnes is concerned, all the hype about him either protesting his contract, crap about medical expenses all that stuff...is false reporting. He issued a statement to www.mmaweekly.com and said that is all untrue. Hes not happy about his pay but that had nothing to do with it. He said that he broke his foot in the first round and tried to fight his fight but couldnt, and hes disappointed in himself. Me personally, if I broke my foot, which I havent...but I have sprained it and broken toes before, I certainly couldn't hop backwards for 15 minutes. I almost get the feeling that he bet on himself to lose by decision. But thats just me.

GSP VS Silva would be great but i agree he would have to clean up the WW divisioin first before stepping up.

I Dont buy the broken foot either. He was not even limping w/ the amount of running around he was doing.
