Well , it took a little over a month but I finally got my money back from the bastard that tried to screw me over on a tranny I bought off of E-bay .

Here is the original post :http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=620589

PAYPAL came through in the end and did an excellent job . They got me a full refund on my purchase price . I lost $50 on shipping but I'll take that .

I had to jump through a few hoops to get it all done but for $345 bucks it was worth it . I took the tranny down to a local tranny shop and explained to them my situation , they were very cool and wrote me up a nice invoice as what the tranny was , what it came out of and how it was not even close to matching the description in his auction , they even found a few defects and listed those , I faxed it over to Paypal and it really helped my case .

I had to ship the tranny back to the seller and a stipulation was it had to be shipped back in the same condition I recieved it , well it was actually better because DHL wouldnt take it the way he sent it to me , so I had to pressure wash it and plug all the holes where anything could leak from , when he got it the bastard tried to say I opened up the case and took some gears out , PAYPAL saw right through that little scam and made him pay up anyway .

needless to say I'm very happy with the outcome . Maybe a blessing in disguise because I ended up getting a T-5z and not risk buying anymore used trannys . and I got $345 bucks to spend on more mods!!

Paypal will SOMETIMES come through like they did for you... But my #1 advice is NEVER pay through your bank account on paypal... PAY THROUGH YOUR CREDIT CARD. Your credit card company will take the charge right the fugg off, almost no questions asked. That'll really throw them for a loop. Very very rare to see someone actually got money back from paypal.

Aha! Kinda what I figured. A part number listing on a misleading advertizement, a legal add it does not make.

Glad it all worked out in your favor. I hope they ban that dumbass from selling on ebay again.

I honestly ALMOST fell over, when you said Paypal gave you a refund. I guess it does pay when you go beyond, that extra mile

I had the same problem... except with UPS. Son of bitches said they delivered a box and never did. I filed a police report and went to their facility, basically bothered the hell out of them.

And I will be receiving my refund hopefully this week(check is the mail).

I'm still out $857 for a pair of Trick Flow heads I never got. Paypal is dragging their heels, too..don't they realize that $1100 cdn is a lot for someone who is 18? Congrats on the refund.
