well, where do i begin...my wife left me and the kids over a months ago....i think thats why i've probably been getting frustrated about my car lately...but she ended up taking all 3 dogs, but leaving all 3 kids... so any way, we had had malenko (rottweiler) for 6-1/2 yrs, jeckel (pittbull-dalmation mix) for 5-1/2 yrs, and sally (pittbull) for 1-1/2 yrs....they kids had known them their whole lives and lived with them for almost 2 yrs.....so yesterday i went and adopted a 5 month old rottweiler who we named shippo from the cartoons "inuyasha".....my furture ex-wife couldn't handle being a mom i guess...but i'm still going to adopt them...well going to update later...jimmy

whoa...thats tough man...Im a single dad as well. My ex(soon to be) wife left me back in november with my daughter who was 13months at the time. She decided shed rather party...and do drugs instead of being a mom. Ive had my daughter everynight since then. She recently go eviccted and had 2 cats we had for the 5 years we were together...well I got stuck with them even though I really didnt want them...my daughter loves the kittys and even feeds them dry food..which helps me out a lil..lol...All I know from what ive been told...is even you dislike your kids mom..dont ever bad mouth thier mom around them...the kids will make thier own deicision about thier mom...you probably already know this but I thought Id pass that along. Props for being a single dad. I swear dads get a bad rep but I swear most of us are good if the court systems would give fathers a chance instead of giving them to mommy right away. I know I work my ass off working on cars all week long while her mom doesnt work..

Jimmy, my hat's off to you for all that you've done for the kids. I seem to recall a little tension some time back, regarding taking on the little guys (I think). You're stand-up for taking it through to the end, even if it cost your personally. Most folks are too self-absorbed to do something like that.

Best of luck with all of the stuff going on.

juggalo95...mmm an ICP fan huh??? i know i am...well, let me give alittle more detail....see a few of the members on here do know my story...my kids are actually my foster kids(they are my niece and 2 nephews)...i've had them for just shy of 2 yrs and am fixing to adopt them...i bear no ill will toward my soon to be ex-wife...some poeple aren't ready to be a mom...but i made a commitment to the kids....i want to give them a life they wouldn't of had if their real parents would of stayed together...what happened was that their real parents split and called dhs on each other....well lets just say they found both parents weren't good parents...both are into drugs...hell my sister is currently in jail....so its been rough at times, but togther with the kids we will make it...thanks for all the support everyone.....

Happy Fathers day

You are the best dad those kids could have! My hats off to you.

I went through the same. My ex left me for drugs and I got my 3 boys. Best deal I ever had. The youngest will be 18 this June 21st and is going to collage. My oldest is still in collage going for his 2nd Masters at the UW. My 2nd oldest went to collage and married, bought a house and now I'm a grandfather and My grandson loves my Mustang.

Please email me if you need any help or advise.

Good luck.

JEBUS sorry for the added BS, I guess its a plus your not working your old job and found something better work-wise.

NOT saying your wife was like a bad job, just that keep with it and keep your wits and something even better down the road might happen.

SO your going to keep all 3 then? Did the DB father show he was still a retard? I know one child had been giving you trouble so has the DB-ery kinda proven to shape up?

Damn man, write a book with all the up's and down's but still standing firm with your choices and doing what is right by those choices...we just dont see that often enough in this world.

Yep...Yeh your a really cool person for doin what your doin. I know it would be cheaper for me tojust pay child support for my kid but I could never let her live with her mom and have a horrible life around her. Kinda sucks because where I live cost of living is really high and on just my income with absolutely no help from the state or her mom..I know my lil girl isnt gonna be living in the middle class neighborhoods like I did but I try my best to make sure she will always live ina house with a yard to play in. But im sure you know its worth it when you come home to the kids and just lil stuff they do that shows you how much they love having a good parent with them makes it worth it. The only thing that bothers me is my daughter calls me mommy and daddy and calls my g/f mommy when she see her leaving the house. She doesnt even let her real mom pick her up with out throwing a fit....enough about my problems..sorry I ramlbed on too much.

hey thanks everyone for your supports....after 6 weeks i couldn't contain it inside much anymore...blksn955.0 you were right i did have trouble with the oldest, he's better i think he realizes the home he has.....i try and be honest with the kids and let them know whats going on....a few weeks ago the father had a visit through dhs(his first real visit through dhs in 16 months, his other 3 visits were though his parenting classes and dhs couldn't stop the visits because he still wasn't do all the judge had ordered....dhs informed the judge on the last court date that the kids have stated that the want me to adopt them (its understandable because they want a stable home)...well this pissed off the dad and instead of spending his time with the kids he decided to yell at them for it...well dhs stepped in and told him not to do that and then he started cussing and yelling at the dhs case worker...needless to say the visit lasted less then 10mins...well also the dhs adoption worker had also come by to do her home study...so it looks like i'm still going to be able to adopt the kids...no matter that my ex decided she couldn't do it....i have asked the kids individually if they want me to adopt them....i told them if they didn't want me to we would take a different tactic....each one said that they did....so i will fight with every fiber of my body to make sure i can adopt them...also dhs is helping me....hey juggalo95 don't appologise for speaking your mind either...sounds like were kindred spirits...i have dated a girl the past week...just went on a couple of dates and had her meet the kids...well the kids have asked her to be their new mom...i have told them that wasn't going to happen(atleast not yet)....the poor things...they just want a family...both a mom and dad...so its understandable about your daughter...please anyone ask any questions you want to....i think the more i speak the less stressful i feel sometimes....again thank you for everyone who has spoken their mind to me...its nice to have support.....jimmy

Jimmy...I am surprised by how many men on this sight have their kids...I am a big advocate of men standing up...I am the guy at work that people come see when they are getting a divorce or going for custody/visitation..... only because I went through so much red tape and bs with interstate commision while getting full custodial parent of Drake years ago.... If you have a agency working with you then your ahead.....
I did want to ask if your receiving any financial help from the state/county......?

Wow, tough situation indeed. Hang in there. And yeah, Happy Father's Day to you. I know how tough the court system can be on a father. It sucks, but I got pushed around. I see my daughter every other w/e and some extra time in the Summer. I do ALL the driving to see her. I even relocated myself and my girlfriend to be closer to my kiddo after my ex went through a second failed marriage. She had triplets with that guy. Talk about crazy. I just found out my ex finally got a job after 7 years and is moving an hour and a half away. I'll probably stick it out for a while to see if the job holds before I up and move and start over again. I have a feeling she'll be back in with her parent's once again. Or worse, try and start yet a third family.

Hang in there....

In my eyes, doing like you are with those kids makes you a good man :Word:

Tons of paper work to fill out I'm sure but, see if you can get some help
from local and state agencies
