I just installed a bbk 70mm throttle body on my 1994 GT. It took a bit of work, but I was able to to get my idle smoothly. Here are my issues:

1) I get a check engine light about 5 seconds after starting the engine

2) it drives fine at first, but once I open up and accelerate a bit, I can floor it and have no power, or really slow acceleration.

Any ideas?

Have you checked for codes?
fuel pressure?
did you reset the computer after installing the tb?
kinda vague, hard to give an answer to.

I'm not sure how to check for codes. Will be checking the tps sensor voltage in the morning. How do I reset the computer? That might be it.

Go through this checklist:

Help me create the "Surging Idle Checklist"

Updated 26-Oct-2019 to clarify creeping idle RPM increase as the car is being driven. Many of you are familiar with the "Cranks OK, but No Start Checklist for Fuel Injected Mustangs" checklist and the No Crank Checklist. They are very effective in finding and eliminating the problems by use of...

It tells you everything you need to do.
Hint: start out with your old tb in place, you have to make sure you have no issues before you start 'updating' stuff or it will make harder to identify and fix problems.
Start at the top and work it step by step.
