upr x-pipe problems...

i had my x-pipe installed at a local muffler shop yesterday and the drivers side pipe is rubbing the tranny crossmember. anyone ever have this happen? i noticed that the upr ads have a flange piece with the kit but mine didnt come with one, is that my problem? all i got was the x-pipe(2 pieces) and the hardware. should i call cool blue performance and make them send me the other piece?

on a different note....i asked the owner of the shop what series flowmasters i had and told me i had 80 series. will the 40 series make that big of a difference? i would prefer something a little meaner if u know what i mean.

thanks in advance

UPR quality isnt great. Sorry to have to say this, but you get what you pay for. You can call the place you got it from and see if they will send you another one, or maybe call UPR directly and ask them. I had the UPR o/r X on my car for a couple weeks, and the fit wasnt great. I stayed with my magnaflow x with the high flo cats.

Do What?! You've got to be kidding me. My UPR X-pipe went on very easy and it fit perfect and a friend of mine got the same pipe and he also had no problems.

But to your question slvrstang98, the drivers side pipe is the short pipe that bolts in between the x and the manifold. Try loosening it up and turning it just a little and see if it helps. You have to loosen both ends of course. That flange piece you're talking about has nothing to do with it. Try this and see if it helps, if not then I dont know what else to suggest. Oh, and yes the 40 series will make a big difference.

you had 80 series??? wtf? 80s are crossflows for Y pipe'd F bodies and grand nationals. Mustangs have true dual exhaust, so, unless you had a REALLY BIZZARE custom exhaust setup, you couldn't have had 80s. Maybe he or you meant 70s/60s/50s ? The 40s are the all around most used for mustangs, and if you want the standard flowmaster sound, go with the 40s. I personally like the 10 series race mufflers, if you're talking flowmaster, but, I personally like V8s loud as hell. So take what you want from my opinion :p :nice:
