Referring to Jose's Post:
http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=481599

I knew of this for awhile.

Since Im not too good at mechanics, one thing that kept me going was all the local guys here who have kept me motivated and helped me with maintenance issues.

1. Javier(buggapimp) has been working on his Turbo for like a year now, we have not done anything together to our cars since last Sept.

2. Roger (green94) got his 03 Cobra, and I havent heard much from him.

3. Vib has his taken apart, and now he's got a little one on the way.

4. And now, Jose has already gutted out his mods and is selling the car.

Luckily for me, I havent had any issues since the water neck leak 2 months ago, but with the changes around here and me not really having a "next step", I'm kinda losing interest also.

I guess only time will tell what will happen next.!!!

Wow man that'd suck, but like I told Jose, if it honestly feels like the right thing to do in your heart, I support you.

Thanks Anthony, and youve have been really cool around here....BUT..I think the NY'ers are supposed to move down here, not vice versa.

GTKid...
DOnt worry, I havent consider selling it yet, just that it seems like things are kinda going SOUTH, even tho the car is still running ok.

Thanks

Hey RC aren't you in Miami? If you are you should consider a move up here. I know it sounds like alot to ask but there's me, my friend David with his black 04 GT and my friend Steve who's buying a fox body. We're all starting a mustang club up here and Idle Wild, a huge Mustang shop is here.

I dunno what your job/personal life is like, but if by some slim chance you could pull it off, there's quite a few stangbangers here who would lend a helping hand, me in particular

Aren't there any Mustang clubs in your area? OR Tracks to go hang out and meet other stangers at?
It sucks when friends who are into the same hobby as you stop doing that hobby. It happens to just about everyone at some time or another. All i can say is to join a club, or start learning to work on that car yourself.

No need to be angry man. If it's paid for just hang on to it as a toy. That's why I have mine and we both know the love of the 5.0 is addicting. If you have any problems I'm sure everyone will still look out for you around town or you can take it to my Bro and he will do everything he can to help you. I have to admit he is not a strict Stang mechanic but he knows enough stuff to get things done right. He has worked for Champion Porsche Team and Pompano BMW in the past years. He has his own shop now on Oakland Park Blvd (b/t Powerline and Andrews) for AC and other minor stuff he does for peeps but it's called "Cold Air Comfort" 954 566-1755 (Thomas) If you need AC work or any help with anything else go and see him or give him a call and tell him you know me.

Hey RC... move up here to Daytona that way you can help me with the bling and I can help you with the work on your car Its not a bad place to live in if you're not right in the city. There is a super walmart you could work at here Theres not many people around me that have mustangs... In fact I think Mike is the only one close to where I live thats really into his car so don't feel bad that everyone around you has lost intrest in their 5.0. You got a nice car, it looks great so dont sell it!

you know, I ALWAYS get on kicks to do something and sometimes those kicks last weeks and even months but you just have to think that one day, sometime in the future you're gonna look back and say why the hell did i get rid of it.

If it's all paid for, it's not taking up too much room, and you don't need the money... what's the point.

I take this point of view from my dad (i just said this in another thread), he had like two different 65's and one was a vert, a 66, and an el camino which were all bad @ss muscle cars as i hear, and almost every other day i hear him say.. 'if only i would have kept that car, if only someone would have convinced me to keep it'.

but no one but yourself can really convince you to keep the car or to change your mind about it. Give it some time and don't jump the gun.

Maybe you need mustang therapy?

BTW what is your dream car. i mean if that mustang was it, keep it. I know one day i want a '69 fastback to work on but that's me.

RC, I know exactly how you feel. I use to have a couple of friends who got me into the mustang addiction and one by one fell off because they were expecting their first child. They had no choice but to became more of a family guy and give up the stang life for a while, which I understand. I have learned alot from them and now I have all the knowledge to do alot of crap on my own. Im a one man wrecking crew down here in Tejas. well... not really, texas is pretty big with mustangs so I have a lot of competition.

you know hes right. There dosent have to be a "next step" or the "next Project" just be happy that you have a S/C 5.0 Mustang, I mean there are tons of people who would want to be where you are now w/ your car. Just be happy w/ what you have now and dont take it for granted.

Two things:
1. I'm pretty sure that RC isnt going to move his family just to be closer to any of you so you can work on cars together.

2. I really don't see the problem anyways. Granted it may not be as fun if they arent working on their cars, but its not like they are refusing to be your friend because theirs is currently being worked on or being sold. Therefore, you can still have them help you and it should be just as fun.

True...I talk to Vib every couple of weeks, and Jose said he will stil help me if I need it, but it's not the same to not be able to reciprocate.

My main issue financially is that Im putting a HUGE pool in my yard next year, and I want about 2/3 paid up front.. My car is paid, but If I had a hoopty, I could SLOWLY work on my car as needed.

Eades..Yeah.. you could tell I havent posted much, but some of that is due to my girls being out of school and spending more time with them.

Zach..I wouldnt mind Daytona, but my wife's family is here and they help with certain things. I think Jessie and Kyle are coming down and passing by Towers on 7/30.. Maybe you could take a ride down too...That will motivate me a little more...I got dinner!

JR: Im not really angry..more like a bit discouraged...I have a former neighbor with his own shop... they are not performance guys, but can do most work, like any suspension, brakes, front end, A/C, etc. They even redid my timing cover, water pump and couple other minor things last year....so Im not too worried about needing help with general stuff. I will DEFINITELY take you up on your brother's shop tho if I need.

Thanks for the replies....I dont think I have REALLY considered selling the car, just kinda ho/hum right now.

Jose said he saw a car like mine last week with the chrome deep dish bullet rims I like...Maybe If I can get the wife to let me get them for my 40th BDAY Next month:

AUGUST 17th,

I will get remotivated...I need to continue to detail the interior anyway.

Thanks for the replies.

The chrome deep dish bullets would look great on the car, that will keep some motivation going.
