thats what i thought as soon as i saw its from down south...and the seller is saying F you....sounds like a Flood Car scam!

When this kid gets it together have him check the car out more thoroughly like under the carpet to look for water damage/stains...there were a bunch of new laws created to protect people from those types of scams so if it is indeed a flood car he has legal options.

I'm thinking if that happened to me and when I called the guy and he was a jerk about it, my next call would be to the bank to put a stop payment on the check, pull my plates off the car and take a bus home

Yeah he really should call and put a stop payment on the check. If possible, bring the car back. For all you know it's probably a flood car that was polished up and sold.

If he paid with a bank check or certified check, can't put a stop payment on it unless it's lost or stolen.

If he did, he's pretty much screwed on this one.

Could be alot of things.
Starter disable from an old alarm.
Fuel pump went out
the factory antitheft could have kicked in
Neutral safety tits up
Loose wire
Electrical issue (cable to starter, fusible link, coilpacks, and etc)

Just where is the kid stranded? If we knew that perhaps someone close could go help. Troubleshooting over the computer is like rolling dice you might get it but then again you might not.
