URGENT rear end help

its normal for mustangs to have the off center rear axle, next time you see a few mustangs in a parking lot, put on your black facemask, put a crowbar shaped ruler in your hand and carefully measure.. i would guess that 75% of mustangs are off center

like someone already said, check your torque boxes if you want to check something. them like to rip out with too much power.. or too many crappy roads

ill answer this one, NOT BY 2 INCHS...

Granatelli Upper and Lower control arms installed - Aluminum Driveshaft installed. Rear end still about 1inch off center, so I just put a spacer on the left rear axle and now it looks fine. Drive fine, no phantom drift to either side. I love the way the rear handles with those upper and lower control arms. Rear stays planted very well and handling/cornering is much more predictable without the rear end hopping all over the place.

Good luck with those control arms, there have been some pretty nasty experiences with them. I know Grenatelli has been trying really hard to improve his name and reputation, hopefully the quality issues with the older control arms are fixed.

Did you use a hubcentric spacer?

Glad to hear you are happy with the outcome. I'd like to get mine centered one day also, but for the time bieng I have tried to forget about it, lol.

A 1" spacer on 1 side is a lot to correct for though. I've seen Mustangs be off-center...but not 1"

Thats just very odd

Mine is off around an inch also, probably a little on the under-side of that but it is annoying none the less.

I've had it up on a lift to try to find something that didn't look right, couldn't find squat.

Yes - used a hubcentric spacer. The rear end is still perfectly aligned - it is just off center about 1 inch. Body shop said they could bend it back into shape with a prybar, but it would just be a cosmetic fix. Mounting brackets and all other pieces are fine - just an off center rear. Maybe some bad/ off center mounting points for the UCA's coming from the factory.
The Granatelli's looked to be good quality. They appear to be exactly the same as the Lakewood arms, just without the Lakewood sticker. The stock arms are CHEAP. Stamped / folded sheet metal. Definitely an upgrade over stock.
