V8 Owners...Most, not all, but most....

Why is it that most V8 owners hate against us so bad, and can never admit or give any kind of credit to us V6er's. This new guy started at my job and hes got a 95, 5.0. Right off the bat i was like kewl another mustang and looks just like mine color and all except his is a GT. I complimented him on the car and all. His exhaust tips look like Pea Shooters but hey its a gt and its nice. Well one night we closed and when leaving we go to the private farm area's of a buddy of mine, so it was not illegal, there are a lot of farm lands privately owned here. Anyways yea so we went for a roll on and of course i didnt expect to beat him or anything so we go and i stayed next to him the whole time, i kid you not i was next to him the whole time he was ahead by a fender. So then after he just leaves so w/e next day i see him at work and i ask him did u really go for it last night? and he was like oh yea i was, and i was like oh well you got to admit it hangs pretty well for a six, then he goes on to making all these excuses and what not as to why he couldnt pull away, and why my car hanged with him the whole time and i was like ok well what ever. So yea another night comes and well the assistant manager she comes outside when we were closing and she goes whats the difference? And I told her well his is a GT so hes got a V8 and his is technically faster. I had no problem admitting that, and well he comes and goes oh yea technically my car has testicals.... I was like :mad: Oh yea thats why ur car couldnt pull on me huh? and he starts talking crap again. And he was like well lets go from a stop. So i was like ok when we get out we will head to my buddies house and settle it on his land. And well we did and from a stop he pulled ahead by a car threw 1st, 2nd i caught up a little by a fender, and third gear stayed the same and in 4th i got next to him, so then he goes u see i told you i would get you from a stop, i was like what by a fender at the end... And then one more was done from a roll in second, and i got him by a fender by the end of 4th. Point is why could he not admit that 6's can hang with some work in them, Yea i understand his exhaust was stock, but he had an SVO intake manifold that i saw, and "cobra" intake and underdrive pulleys that he claims as well which i dont believe because he would have whooped my ass but point is he didnt. Well yea just thought I would share this and maybe i can get an explanation or similar stories from you guys. :flag: :flag: :flag:

It's the same line of thought that some 6'ers, including the import 6'ers, have a hard time accepting the fact that there are some stout I4's out there that can hang with them.

It is still pretty good to hear about 6's that hang with 8's, though. :nice:
 
Yeah, people have a very large problem watching a 2.3T Mustang wop a V8 expecially. Someone posted about a prototype 4cyl SVO that was made in the late 80's, and cancelled because the 270hp DOHC 2.3T could take on a V8.

I own a '00 V6 (DD) and a '93 I4 (restoring/fixing), and I get crap for just owning a "non-mustang" or some will call it a "musk-rat" because neither is a V8. I'm happy with good looks, a good name, and decent gas milage =).
 
i myself respect all mustangs for being mustangs. people have their reasons for buying a V6, sometime's its not always about the power or speed.

but what i cant stand is when a kid gets ahold of one and "rices" it up. or when a kid things hes the man in a 6.

i test drove an 03 auto V6, and you know what? it was a great car with plenty of power.

but i dont purposly go out and make fun of V6ers for no reason.


p.s. IMO, a good reason to get a 6 if your buying a new one(not that they're already not expensive enough) is that i always thought a convert 6 was the price of a ht GT, so if you really wanted a vert, maybe get a 6, because i know i could never justify spending so much money on a new vert GT.

I love my V6, thats all I have to say, great power to me and great gas mileage :D Oh BTW he came in today and he was like "oh wait till my fuel pump comes in then we can go again" :rlaugh: By that time I will have my high flow cats, UnderDrive Pulleys, and 9mm ford racing wires. :D :flag: :banana: :banana:

:nice: Watch out for the fuel pump, that's like 50rwhp! :eek: You'll be able to beat him with the pulleys & high flow cats

There's what I like about these boards, filled with Mustang owners who respect all 'Stangs for what they represent.

GL and show him up, for all Mustang owners, big or small engines, classic or new. Find someone with a 2.3T SVO or swaped in a TC/SVO engine and ECU. If he complains when a sixer holds up, imagine his expression and shock as a 4 banger shows off some power.
 
Well its a 255lph fuel pump and according to him its going to give me a "Whoopin" ........... And i did mention the SVO 4 Cyl, and according to him its "A waste"............ Needless to say this guy is kinda starting to irratate me. A true Mustang lover would Love any Mustang for it being a Mustang. But what the hell you just cant help some people sometimes. Guess I just got to show him who is boss, :D ... Again..... :rlaugh:...... And I dont want people to think that I am putting down GT's Because i love GT's and if i had one i would be super happy with it (Minus the gas mileage) But yea so any GT owners who read this dont start bashing the 6's cuz then ur just as bad as he is. Anyways, thats what happened today... I love it the times when we can finally show those 8's what we are made of. :D

From my experience, people who usually talk crap about people's cars don't know jack about cars themselves.
My roommate likes Camaros and every once in a while he'll go on his "Chevy is the best" rants just to get a rise out of me. But if we're going down the road, I'll be the one telling him that the old Chevy that just went down the road was a Malibu or whatever. Since he learned that his Ford-loving roommate knows more about Chevrolets than he does, he'll admit in front of people that I know more about cars.
I don't catch crap from my friends that drive imports, either. They know that I know almost as much about imports as they do, and WAY more about domestics.

All you need to do is teach this guy some crap he doesn't know about his own car, and he'll stop thinking you're ignorant cause you have a V6 Mustang.
You also have a lot of mods, but the important one I don't see in your sig is gears. You'll bring the car even closer to his if you change them. I'm assuming his are stock too since you were so close and his exhaust is stock.
After you show him you know more about cars and can make your 6 run with him, he'll shut up.
 
What makes it great is that since he is so cocky I beat him and he makes excuses about waiting till he gets his 255lph fuel pump and he puts emphasis on the 255lph, as if it is going to do so much. But yea he makes excuses about me beating him from a roll on but from a stop he brags that he can pull 1 whole car in front of me, when what is he proving, nothing but embarresment, for an 8 with

SVO Manifolds
Flowmasters
Cobra Intake
UnderDrive Pulleys
Short Throw Shifter
Headers (dont know what brand)
And Perrellis (only reason he can jump 1 car ahead off the line)

To only pull on a 6 off the line by 1 car then the 6 closing the gap completly, and lose from a roll on. Well yea anyway thats all I wanted to say. He is making it a point to try and get me now when its funny how he feels he is proving a lot by beating a 6.

What did you expect from a 95 GT? It has about 185Rwhp...You have a lot of mods done to your car, of course your going to keep up. Even if he has the mods listed, he is probably only putting down about 200Rwhp. I doubt it though. (You said he had the stock pipes on it. The car probably isn't flowing very well) By the way, is his car an auto? If it's a stick, does he stink at driving? I'm not giving you a hard time, but I would think with your mods you would beat him pretty good. His car "might" run a 14.9. Stock 99+ GT's run low 14's, so a 95 is going to be in the 15's...Good win though. I don't understand why he would talk crap. I would think he would at least say, good race or something.
 
i catch crap all the time for having a 6, and mine is stock (well except for a CAI and true duals which make little to no difference). people call it the pusstang and stuff, i dont care. everyone is so dumb, they are like "so is your car a 5.0?", everyone around here thinks that V8 mustangs are 5.0's. its like uhm, they stopped making them 11 years ago bud

Its the people who have V6s that think they are GT material and that they own the hottest car on the road that piss me off. I respect Cobras... V6s should respect V8s :D
 
I used to own an auto '99 V6 mustang. For the price, it was a pretty nice little car. It had some get-up and go, esp compared to some of those 4 cyl civics and ****. The 94-95 gt's are crap, not much power over the V6's.

I may own a V8, but i'll always have respect for the V6's. Especially when they're kept nice, modded non-rice and the owners don't act like they're driving an 03/04 cobra :flag:
