i know this has been beat to death and there are a million threads but i need a little help so any info is appreciated.

my car is a 94gt, just got done putting gt-40 cobra heads, cobra upper/lower intake with 3/8 spacer, tfs1 cam, tfs springs, 1.6 scorpion rrs, and some other goodies on. Stock vcs wouldn't fit, tried cobra vcs and wouldn't fit, grinded insides of fox vcs and got them to go on. only problem is i grinded too far on the pass. side because i have an oil leak on the vc.

Now im the market for some after market vcs. Can anybody help me out. Is there anything out there besides fox vcs and some grinding that will work?

I will not be running an egr valve so that is not a clearance issue

I dont want to have to grind the outsides of the vc for alternator clearance if at all possible either.

Thanks in advance for the info

I just recently had the BBK valve covers put on my car and that was a headache. They look sick, but grinding had to be done for the alt, modified egr for me and i needed a intake spacer. I have a cobra manifold, gt 40 heads and it sucked for (the shop) to get it all on but it LOOKS GREAT!

About 1/8 of an inch from being a problem

Changing engine oil is fun....

The only grinding was done behind the ALT at the bottom screw. Coulod'nt get a clear pic on that tho. These VC's are the Thickest ones out there. So if you need to grind with these you have room to do so.

The Trick Flow valve covers fit perfect, no grinding. The only problem is that you have to drill your own hole in the valve cover for the oil fill. I picked up a set on ebay for like $60 or something.

Short TF VC's here with a thick fel pro gasket and a 3/8" spacer. I'm even running shaft mount rockers and I didn't have to modify anything. I'm not running an EGR though so I can not comment if there is any interference there or not. The TF clear the alternator though and that is the problem area on these cars, along with the oil fill neck. With the TF you can put the neck where ever you want though.

Moving the alternator is going to be a major pain in the butt. Far easier to buy a decent valve cover. I'm running the short trick flow valve covers with stud mount rockers with no clearance issues anywhere.
