I'm running a essentially stock motor with a B-cam. when i order heads, is it necessary to upgrade to larger springs (to accomodate for more lift), or will .500 lift springs be ok? some say i will get valve float, but i want an official answer. thanks!

Valve float is a different issue.....it happens when the springs aren't strong enough to close the valves before they open again. The stock springs will be okay for the B303 as far as lift is concerned, but they may have valve float in the higher rpms.

springs are criticle... you know your going to push it a few times.. and it really sux to be having fun and take out an engine for valvesprings!! Cool?? the stock spring will "Carry" the B cam.. shift points at 4500-4800 rpm.. however pushing farther than that your way into the danger zone!! the valve will not only "float" off the top of the cam ramp... it will bounce off the seat and you loose criticle compression... just a thought!! Get the springs!!

Just me...........................
