Any ideas or comments would be great, thanks ahead of time. I have a 91 GT with a stock motor and and 121,000 miles. It's so stock that it still has all those original ford stickers on everything. My problem is that the motor will not rev above 4,500 rpm. Once you get to 4,500 rpm it makes an awful noises and it sounds like valve float. I have plenty of oil pressure and I think it's either a couple weak lifters or my valve springs are worn out. It's rare that I go that high in the rpm's mostly because I have the 2.73 gears.
Either way I was thinking of taking the heads to a machine shop, getting a valve job and replacing the springs. Is there anything else I should do once I got the motor that far apart?

Thanks for the help!

Not much, other than maybe getting your lower intake ported by Tmoss, or putting an aftermarket intake on. I see you still have 2.73's.....you plan on modding the car at all?
