I just got carfax results on my car, and now I'm thinking that there was a VIN switch somewhere along the way. The VIN is for a V6 car, but its a complete (as far as I can tell) GT. The mileage on the carfax shows "possible odometer fraud", as the mileage when I bought it this year was lower than the last reported mileage before. And on top of that, the carfax report showed "signifcant front end damage" in a collision.
Is there anywhere else that I can find information on what this car was originally? Did ford stamp the VIN number anywhere else on the car, like on the tranny hump or in the engine bay? There is no door tag on this car ...
Any ideas much appreciated!

. I would look at the rear end and see if you can find the i.d tag for the rear end and see if they left the 7.5 rear(common v6 rear) or swithed it to the 8.8 (All v8's have this rear)
