I'll try to get a picture of where the mounting points might be, but I was mostly wondering about the rear mounting location.

Here's the deal: I'm getting ready to install my roll bar (i.e. cutting to length, cleaning the floorpan, etc) So, I need to know where to mount the rear bars.

So, any pics or descriptions would be great!!!

(don't worry, i've searched and no luck for sn95s)

this is my buddy's 97 gt that i helped install a rollbar in--the vertical bars mount to the floor beind the front seats (you have to flatten out the floor w/ a hammer or so, and cut a hole in teh carpet).

the bars that angle back mount to the floor at an angle / and barely fit between the space between the corner of the rear seat and the quarter panel.

very tight fit--barely clears the door panels and squishes the headrests (we had to remove the hooks for the seatbelts that are under the headrests). also, expect a few whacks on the head until you get used to having it in the car.

hope that helps. sorry, no pics during the installation.

I envy you. I wish I could get my bar and tonneau covers done, I just don't have the money right now.

Here's cjones' car domain site this might help... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/461081/6

Good Luck

I"M THE ONE WITH THE MONEY??? hell no! this has taken me a while to save up for and my gf's mom paid me $100 towards the job. I've checked out cjones' site, it's cool, but doesn't help me.

anyways, PUNISHER: do you remember what you did about the plates that attatch to the open ends of all the pipes. The one on the floorboard fits fine (with the hammering like you said) but what about the rear, there seems to be a raised notch where I would like to mount the rear connecting plate?

more description on the rear mounting location would be cool. I just don't know what is a strong point back there.

Here's a quick Visio drawing I did of the possible mounting locations of the rollbar (at least what I was thinking).

I can't remember exactly how it's setup, but i think this is the general idea.

ok, a little explanation of my rough drawing: the thing on the left is just the rollbar portion. The 6"x6" piece is what is going to be mounted to the rear portion on the right. The picture to the right is the part of the drivers side frame where I think the rollbar will mount to. That portion is symmetric to the passenger side- rear frame as well.

I can probably get a picture late tonight if this is too rough of a sketch.

i also banged the crap out of that little notch so the angled bar would fit more flushly.

oh cool, so you did mount there

i hit the thing one or twice with a hammer and it seemed pretty solid, so i thought i'd ask first.

anybody else think this is the way to go?

I've got that bar in my 88 vert. It's from Hooker Competition. I think it was going for about $600.

What the crap are you doing in your cars? My Mustang isn't nearly big enough for "having it in the car".

i finally got it, it's installed and painted... I'm just working on reapholstering (my fiancee is actually) the rear set to get the pics up

Graduating College + Job + Wedding plans = no time for car... I haven't washed it in months, it pains me to drive it so dirty.

Is there any chance you can take some pics of where the rear bar attaches? I'm assuming that you mounted it to the rear shock mount, but pics would be helpful as I'm going to be putting mine in sometime this winter.

Thanks

I love the size of the tubing with that chrome one. I really dislike the small tubing bars. I however want bars that go towards the back to go between the seat and the side of the car. Dont recall which brands do that.
