My car just ticked over 102000, and I finally gave in and bought a new top. My car was like yours in that it was leaking bad in the back conv. top well. I called around to four or five places and the cheapest I found was $931 out the door with tax. As far as patching it I dont know, even if you do find a way to patch it, it probably wont look that good by that just my .02

Might head over to a US Boat store (or one similiar). They sell waterproof fabic that should help. Ask them what to use as far as glue.

I think I got quoted like $900 + tax for vinyl. I paid $1,200 for canvas.

canvas is worth the extra coin i think. Looks alot better to!
How much longer is that canvas suppose to last. seems the vinyl only last 3-6 years

Both canvas and vinyl have their advantages and disadvantages.

Canvas looks better but need more care and cleaning.

Vinly does not look as good but is easier to clean and maintain.

If you are willing to put up with the additional cost and hassle go with canvas.

It's worth it. You only need to give it a good clean once or twice a year and waterproof it 2-3 times a year. The only sucky part is if it's not properly water proofed, you can get a tad bit of water inside if you get caught in a TOTAL downpour or go through a carwash. hehe

Well, I would not know anything about that. I respect my vert too much to ever consider taking through a drive through car wash
