I recently put my rebuilt explorer motor into my 89 gt. I am still breaking it in so i havent driven it hard and am about 2-3 days from changing the oil. It seems to run fine, but while im driving next to buildings, other cars etc i hear this very very annoying ticking sound. With the hood up i isolated it to the upper passenger side of the motor. It sort of sounds like an exhaust leak but doesnt spped up when i give it gas. What could it be? I have been told it os my injectors by a guy i know at autozone. If it makes a difference (if not i just wanna list my goodies) trick flow street burner upper and lower, 70mm throttle body, 73mm MAF calibrated to my 24lb Venom injectors, trick flow stage 1 cam, gt40p heads, 1.7 trick flow RR, ford racing lifters, comp cams valve springs, bbk shorties, off road H pipe. New wires and plugs. All the work was done be a reputable machine shop and mechanic. Sorry for the long post but i need help because i dont want the sound to cause damage
