I installed a BBK offroad X-pipe w/ my stock catback yesterday and I'm really happy w/ the sound and power! It's a little raspier than I'd like but sounds great under acceleration and settles down at cruise. Big SOTP improvement and the 1-2 shift completely busts the tires loose.

Money wasn't the issue and I'll probably still do a catback later, but what a great way for someone to do an exhaust on the cheap! If you're looking for power and a non-chambered sound, do the H or X-pipe first and wait-and-hear on a catback, IMO.

I had the same setup till I added the magnaflow mufflers. I wish I had kept the factory mufflers because I noticed a huge amount of lower end torque loss. Guess I need a bit more back pressure.

I had the same thing happen on my '98 GT when I switched to an offroad X from a Bassani X w/ cats. I did the Flowmaster catback first, sounded stock w/ the factory H, added the Bassani, sounded better but quiet, felt faster and picked up a tenth. Removed the Bassani for the offroad X, felt like I lost torque (acceleration), sounded GREAT, but actually picked up two tenths...GO FIGURE!

My ass dyno isn't always accurate, how's yours?
