vibration coming from shifter area help

alright when im in fourth gear at about 3k rpm and i step on the gas it feels like my shifter console ( the piece of plastic that the shift boot connects to) is gonna rattle off the car or something under it is. I'm missing the top two bolts in the metal piece that goes under that. would that cause the vibration?

That sounds like the rear shaft bearing in the transmission. Go under the car and see how much you can move the driveshaft yoke in the transmission and inspect the u-joints also while under the car.

ok if that is my problem how hard is it to replace a rear shaft and u joints?
