Vibration from 2500 or 3k up to redline

I have a vibration seemingly in the rear of the car.. no matter wether I stomp it through the rpm range or just slowly go up it vibrates pretty bad... I'm new to mustangs... Its an 88 gt 5.0 five speed... it is out of alignment and could probably use tire balancing but the vibration seems much more than that... please help me w/some ideas... thanks ahead of time

drive shaft maybe?

I thought drive shaft... but I also think it could be a tranny mount.. b/c if I get on it hard in first when I go to shift it feels like something drops

I would pull the drive shaft and check it and the slip yolk. Then change the tranny mount.

Have you looked at the torque boxes? If it feels like something is droping when you shift I had that same problem, I put in battle boxes and it went away. The vibration could be tranny mounts, drive shaft.

Where is this tq box you speak of???? What exactly should I be looking for in the driveshaft and slip yoke....

Sounds like a bent drive shaft or maybe if you're lucky one of the four bolts that mounts driveshaft to rearend has come loose. Check that first.
