Got my T56 in.. and my Novi 2000.. This thing is a DOG with the stock 3.27's. I've got a set of 4.10's I'm thinking about tossing in.. Should I go taller/shorter? I'm thinking that the 4.10's will be sweet with this trans/blower combo..

What kind of RPM are you guys turning up with 4.30's in 6th, and 70-80mph?

According to my calculator, with a stock diameter tire, a Viper-spec T-56 and 4.30 gears,

At 70 MPH in 6th gear, your motor is turning at 1,969.9 RPM
At 80 MPH in 6th gear, your motor is turning at 2,251.3 RPM

I'd go with the 4.30s! That's a nice low highway RPM for 70-80mph and such a tall gear. Good reason for getting/having a T-56 with the 6th gear overdrive.

My rpm is right around what kurgan said, thats one thing I really love about the viper t56. I use to turn around 3k rpms doing 80mph with my old t45, that got old real quick when going on long trips. Now the car just loafs on the highway, picked up 2mpg city and highway also.

3.27's with a Viper T56.. is a DOG.. 1st gear is decent.. all the way out to 55mph.. but, 2nd just doesn't feel good at all.

well, if my eyes do not deceive me, the first gear in your T56 is either a 2.66 (close ratio) or 2.97 (wide ratio). Thats coming from a 3.38:1 first gear in the TR3650, so yes it will certainly feel like a dog until you swap gears. I believe you calculate final drive ratios by multiplying the transmission gear ratio by the rear end ratio...
TR3650 w/ 3.27s: 3.38*3.27 = 11.05
T56 (close ratio) w/ 4.10s: 2.66 * 4.10 = 10.90
T56 (wide ratio) w/ 3.73s: 2.97 * 3.73 = 11.07

So you see your options here. I don't know which style transmission you have, but you see that you will need a considerable gear upgrade to get to your original final drive ratio.

I run a Novi 2000 and a T56 with 3.73's. Not enough gear I don't think. Sure I spin through first and second at WOT, but when you get into 3rd and 4th, it takes too long to get anywhere.

4.10's would be the minimal gear for the viper spec'd t56.... but based on the rpms numbers above, it seems 4.30's to be the best choice since you won't lose you cruising abilities.
