I have a 91 GT with an S trim strapped to it. I keep having the belt slip off just one rib. Not all the way, and I dont really see any performance changes, but I keep having to put it back on by putting the car in 5th and pushing it slowly backwards while lifting the belt. Does anyone else have this problem? I have looked multiple times and there is no clearance issues and nothing disrupting the belt. Please help if you have any answers...

I'm assuming you're talking about your supercharger belt and not your serpentine but if you are talking about the serpentine, here was my problem.

I had my serpentine belt do that multiple times and fly apart. My problem was adding a washer behind the tensioner Vortech bracket. This means my belt tensioner was cocked just the thickness of a thin washer which was enough to throw the belt off quite a bit. Everything has gotta line up PERFECTLY!

Yes I was talking about belt #2, the supercharger belt. Thank you guys both for the reply and I will check both of those out more thoroughly. I appreciate the help!

I would check to make sure the tensioner is tight and lined up properly. Also, make sure the supercharger brackets are torqued down to the motor tight. It may be that the brackets are a little loose and moving under acceleration thereby causing your belt to not line up and slip off.

To clarify, its walking off of the blower pulley, or the crank pulley? My brother in law had the same problem with the crank pulley they'd shipped him. The outside lip wasn't tall enough, and his belt would walk on him too, no matter how tight the dang thing was...

It is walking off of the blower pulley. Its fairly easy to put back on. I have checked the tension many times, and have looked at all the bolts with an eye, but I think my next move to check out what everone is saying is to take the belt off and wiggle the head unit tension free, then check all the bolts, and lastly to use a straight edge between pulleys to see if they are off. The main problem is, there is no consistancy to when it happens, so I dont know the cause. Its not when I get on it, and its not from time at the track. I have no idea!!!
