Walked out of a 7-11 the other day, just sipping on my slurpee.... well I had parked on the side of the building like I always do (I don't beleive in parking next to people:rlaugh:). And as I was walking out a couple with their two children are in front of me, as we round the corner of the building their older child (no older then 6) goes "Mustang!"....needless to say this made me chuckle a little to myself knowing that there is still faith in today's youth, but what really got me was his dad replied "What kind of mustang?" and he said........"COBRA!" I just had to share this story with you guys, not gonna lie, it pretty much made my day :D

Haha! Cool! I had a kid about 10yrs old the other day walk past me when I was getting gas and he said "Hey nice Mustang!".

Also a girl I work with has an 8 year old boy that loves my Mustangs.

Maybe there is still some hope in future generations.

i was driving around evansville, in. a few years ago, had a boxster with its top down in front of me and some other nice car behind me and the kids in the lane next to me were just eyeballing my car (black 88 vert with the top down). just as the light changed i saw one of the kids say "nice mustang". it was a good day.

Same here.

From 6 years old and up, I was naming them by model names, even Saleen, SVT, Steeda and so on EVERY time I saw one on the road.

I bet my parents would blindfold me before putting me in the car if they could go back in time...:lol:

Didnt have any of those when I was 6. The GT had under 180 hp back then :(

My 8 yr old son knows everykind of mustang, I have taught him well. He can point out a GT, Cobra, Bullitt, Mach1, ect... he is even better at pointing out ricers and has even yelled"RICER" at them out the car window at times, ive put an end to that cause its gonna get one of us shot:rlaugh:

I miss my Cobra so much! When I first moved in here and had the 96 and the 03 the neighbor kids were walking down the street (3 of them from 8-10yrs) and they lookd up at my garrage and I hear on kid say "Oh wow! He has a Cobra!" and the other kid say "Holy crap! He has two!" followed by the third kid say "Those are the fastest cars in the whole neighborhood" :rlaugh:
I shouted "Thanks! If its ok with your parents I will take you for a ride!" About a half hour later the dude from up the street with the 97 Vette came over with the kids cause, and I quote, "My boy says you have two race cars here that you said he could drive." :rlaugh: I opened the garrage and told him I offered them a ride. :nice:
We ended up being friends for a few months untill he had to move for his job. :(

I am glad the kids today still respect and recognize the Mustang so well. For me I always think back to being a kid and seeing a Fox GT T-Top lighting its tires from a stop and the wonderous growl the car made as it launched. :drool:

The first week I drove my 06 to church a 12 year old girl walked up to me with a bright smile. The conversation went like this:

12 yr: "Really cool car."
ME: "Thanks. Does that make me cool too?"
12 yr: "Oh yeah!!"
ME: "Was I cool before the car"
12 yr: -silent pause-..... "You were nice"

Nice to cool. It's all in the car.

I had an experience a couple of months ago at a local cruise in. A bunch of us from our local club rolled in together, so a there were like 15-20 Of our own mustangs there. Two kids on bikes rolling through were eyeing everything, on the way back from the end of our row they point to my car and claim they like it, then one of the little d-bags looks at a ratty 94 v-6 vert (white as well) with porno red interior, rips in the top and beat to chit paint and goes "that one's WAAAYYYY better"..... A caught chit the rest of the night from some buddies b/c the vert was obviously the better car.... :D


So don't put faith in america's youth just yet. :D

Funny...around here, kids just stare at you and make dumb noises. Then the 16 year olds just talk **** because their Dad's, friends, brothers, uncles, cousins, step son has a faster car than you.

The fella I work with tells his 1.5 year old son that corvette are potties. So one day, after a local basball game, the kid had to pee and kept pointing to a new vette say " I gotta go potty!!!!"

In the past week I have had more people comment on my car then all of last year and I only drove my car three times last week. First I was coming back from getting her dyno tuned and I see this ricer flying up the street to get behind me. Then at the next stop sign I see him giving me the signal to spin the tires so I giver some gas and barked second. The next stop sign the kid actually pulls into the oncoming lane just to tell me how bad ass my car is. I tell him thanks and go on my way. Then Saturday I was at a light and this kid behind me in his escort was revving at me. So I showed him what a real car sounds like and he smiled and gave the thumbs up. Yesterday on the way back from getting a mach 1 radiator installed this Chevy suv pulls up next to me on the highway and stayed with me no matter what I did. So I went wot just to show him he would have no chance at a mustang. After that he backed off. I got to my exit and the SUV gives me a few honks and I see a bunch of little kids (probably no more the 8-10 years old) waving out the window and giving thumbs up.

That is cool,sounds like my daughter.She's been going to almost every show n shine,Ford drag days,cruise nights,and test n tune nights at the drags since she was in a stroller,and she can pick out most makes,and models,i just need to teach her the year models now LOL!

It's kinda funny, this reminds me of my prom night about a month ago (yes, I'm still a youngin', only 18). Someone I knew was driving his dad's 05-06-07 GT; I don't know which b/c I can't tell the difference and he never said. Anyway, it's a 5 speed, and I'm not sure about the mods, but it definitely had exhaust, and sounded good.

Point of the story, he talked some smack, about how fast it is, he wants to race me, yatta yatta yatta. Well, I really don't like street racing, and will essentially never do it. But on the way out, we just happened to line up at a stop light. I had no intentions of racing him, but he made it very obvious (through his exhaust) that he wanted a piece. And I knew my little ole almost stock NPI wanted none of him. Well I decided just to smack it anyway:D......When I let out of it at about 55 mph, he was at least 10 lengths back. IDK how many gears he missed, but I can only imagine... LOL But it's all good, we laughed and joked about it later that night. I don't remember who told me, but when I first joined Stangnet well over a year ago, someone said that the first mod to a car should be the driver. Couldn't agree more.

Also saw a red Vorteched aero Cobra that night....:drool: He parked next to me in the restaurant parking lot. :D I'd venture to say it was the nicest Mustang I have seen in person to date.

And earlier on, a younger boy, prolly around 12 or so, commented on how "nice looking that Cobra and GT look sitting next to each other." Made me feel good someone that young could actually tell the difference.

Damn, I have lots of Mustang stories from prom night. :p
