Is the law strict where you are? 5% is the only way to go! Had it on my black '99 and have it currently on my white '01! It looks sweet!

Not sure exactly how dark mine is...other than very dark. Same grade all around. You can see in a little bit... I don't think the cops are as hard on people with dark tint here in sunny FLA as they are in other states since we battle the relentless sun for such a long, hot summer. They've never bother me. Even before this tint, I had mirror tint (freakin hated it), but you couldn't see in at all - and I got pulled over once. I just opened the window quickly to put him at ease and he didn't say a word about it.

I have same tint as guy above. If thats correct its 5% tint. I have 5% all around. At night nobody can see in and daytime only when the sun is direct on the dashboard can people see in but not enough to ID you

Black mustang GT with full 5% all around is great! Dark and Mistic.

I live in Wichita Kansas and cops dont mess with me. I got pulled over and just roll windows down. I also have a kill switch on windows Guy put it in when he had them tinted before I owned car. If killed windows wont go up!!!

hehe evil

Brenden whatever percentage you go with, on the back window where the dots are make sure they use a piece of vinyl stripping. It should adhere perfectly. If they don't do a good job TAKE IT BACK!.. Also ask them if they guarantee their work before you pay them to do it. note: natural dye tint tends to fade.

Thanks KappaBall. I was trying to remember that. Its VINYL stripping over the dot matrix that is needed for our stangs. I have been thinking about getting some tint and a buddy of mine talked about that vinyl strip, i had been trying to remember what was used

Thanks

depends on how strict the cops are in your area. you know they dont need an excuse to pull a mustang over. BUt ive got 20% in the rear and 35% on the sides. Looks sweet but i did'nt want anything really dark so it a matter of opinion.

Ya the law is really strick were i am Dallas TX. You can olny have 35% on the front and 20% of the back. I wanna stick to the same %'s because the car is black and you would really be able to notice the difference between the 2 tint colors.

Plus thats all i need is some hillibilly cop trying to give me a hard time for my windows.....They are just looking for something to do around here and i dont want to give them an excuse...

Ill post pics when the car is finished..

Get 15% all around and you'll still be able to back up and see out the sides at night and it will look bad ass. 5% looks good during the day, but it's hard to see out of at night. 35% is to light IMO.

Here is a picture of my car with 25% tint all around. I think this tint fits my car right and 5% in MO will get you a ticket.

When you say all around, do you mean windshield too? I'd go no more than 20% all around if you do the windshield. Tinting the windshield (along with the roll downs and rear glass) restricts all light entering your car.

brenden 35/20 is better than nothing. Your car will look amazingly better so there's nothing to worry about. Just note that when you get 20 in the rears and 35 in the fronts the fronts will still look a tad bit darker hence there will be no source of light in the inside of the car to make it look brighter. Understanding?

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the main reason for the tint laws is for driver visibility, not so a cop can see in. Otherwise why would they let you have a darker tint on the back?

As for the above thread what exactly are you talking about that needs to be done for our mustang?

ask any cop. it's for that purpose. As for what needs to be done for our rear window. We have a retarded dot matrix configuration on the top of the rear glass. It makes it difficult for the tint to adhere to the glass with that crap there. So in our case or any other owner that has that problem, a vinyl strip is used in place of tint.

20% all around

As for the police, as long as they can see in and you aren't being an ass they usually will let you get by with tint ( in IL there isn't supposed to be any front window tint ).

SWEET!!!

Looks sweet!!! I will be getting the Eibach pro-system very soon. I am used to having my cars 20% all the way around too. Now I just have to find a shop that will do it for me 20% on the sides.

Nice Stl GT - sharp wheels! Yeah, re: the cops - they like to see the driver and whomever else may be in the car when they walk up beside it. Think about it. Would you want to walk up to a car window you couldn't see thru and have it open with a guy pointing a gun at ya? This is what it's all about, and honestly, I don't blame them.
Re: tinting the windshield (02GTFTW) - I've seen some seriously low 'sun-strips' across the top of the windowshield, but I haven't seen anyone who's tinted the entire thing...but I'm sure someone has.
