Want more bang for less buck

Have 96 GT with 4.6, have Hooker Super Comp long tube headers, Hooker offroad x-pipe, Borla Cat back, Centerforce Clutch, March Underdrive Pulleys, Mac cold air induction, Mac 70mm throttle body, MSD Wires, MSD coils, Motorsport 3.55 gears.

Raced my buddy, he has a 2000 LS1 Camaro SS, He spanked my ass, all he has is K&N Cold Air Induction, and computer programmer. :bang:

This sucks want faster for less buck, any ideas, please, I am open for anything.

N/A dyno tune maybe? P&P PI heads would probably be your best bet, but to keep up with an LS1 you're really gonna need some kind of power adder (i.e.- s/c, t/c, or nitrous).

I can beat a LT1 but that LS1 is a problem, I can get him in 1ST and 2ND, but 3RD I lose everything :rlaugh: , please help, also wondering about changing my transmission, have T45, would a T3650 help, dont know how the gear ratios are between the two transmissions. Im thinking about 3.73 gears, and possibly PI heads, and Diablo Chip. Is this a good start or should I try something different.

My e/t's are 9.018 for 8TH mile

Stage 2 PI headswap, a good set of cams, lose the MAC CAI and use the stock tube with the K&N from the set-up (lose HP and TQ from that 90 degree bend into the fenderwell) I just found this out recently.... makes it run ritch. bigger TB and hope to outdrive him!!

pi heads, new cams, up to 4.10's, ported upper intake plenum, new maf, and dyno tune it.

Speed ain't cheap unfortunately but that will get you close to him.
For about the same price you could also just get a s/c

I gotta agree, spray it. Best "bang for the buck" mod you can do. I would skip the tranny swap, minimal performance gain for the money spent. Just get a good quality nitrous kit (I use Nitrous Express) and go eat some bowties.

BTW, check my sig for proof of nitrous benefits.
