i have a licoln rear end in my car right now which made my rear tires stick out further. i ould like to run a wider tire on a 10.5 rim but my 255 on my 917x9 barely fit as it is. what axels and rear end do i need to do this on my 92 notch

Well, if the Lincoln rear makes them stick out further, then (if you're going to change the rear end) you'll need a narrower rear end; I don't know of the most narrow rear, but the stocker might do it for you. 10.5 w/ wide tires will be hard especially w/ 17's. You'll have to massasge the outter fenders, inner fenders, probably totally remove the quad shocks and also get the proper backspacing.

There's a guy w/ 315's out back, not sure on the rim size, but I believe he had to mini-tub the car. Hissing50 has 295's on some 15x8 draglites on the back of his 79 and he uses air bags (or maybe just one) to eliminate fitment issues.

I plan to put some 275/50/R15 BFG's on my recently-purchased 15x10 draglites w/ 6.5" backspacing. Not sure all it will entail, but I anticipate flipping the quad shocks, if not totally removing them. I'll have to massage the inner and outter fenders as well, most likely.

You've got your work cut out for you to get that all worked out and fitted well. Good luck :nice:
