So that WAS you trying to keep up with my R150RT on the BRP a couple of weeks ago.
So a car driver doesn't have a huge part in it? Tell that to Richard Childress. How much have they won since Dale died? Or talk to anyone who raced aganist David Pearson when he would pass them while liting a Camel.

i am actually going to agree with mike, it is more about the man than the machine.

the operating range of my camshaft is 1500-4000. More info on my cam:

Would it still be ok to use the performer rpm intake and an edelbrock 600 cfm carb?

The RPM is fine despite what it's operating range is stated. It'll match the Performer on bottom but leave room to grow on at the top. Can't say on the carb, I'm a Holley guy.

one of the nice things about carbs with vacuum secondaries, or air valve secondaries(which the edelbrock is), is that the secondaries will open only as far as the engine needs them to open.

An AIR-GAP????? on a STREET CAR????? Talk about mis-matched components! Performer RPM....you bet....1500-6500 rpm manifold....needs a 6500 rpm carb. But an AIR-GAP??? Pitiful cold engine/weather driveability...seen it and I live in S.C.

Yes, I'm running one with a 600 Holley and it works great in all weather temps.
Starts and runs just fine in the cold and the summer heat keeps the fuel from boiling.
