If I can get my car sold tmrw I am looking to buy a 2001 GT thats mineral grey 5spd premium and only has 58k on the clock. They are asking 9800 bucks and it looks great minus a small hole in the front bumper cover. I this a good deal or should I try and talk them down? Also where would be a cheap place to pick up an 03 style cobra bumper to replace the broken one if I decide to buy? God I hope I can get back in the Mustang club again !

First thing I would check would be the tranny. If its the 3650 make sure they did the TSB fix for it. Price wise I would talk them down. Around me there are a few 2003-2004 GT's with less miles and no holes in the bumpers going for about 13k.

I for sure am going to check out the tranny...it's a 600 mile drive to go look at the car. Price wise I can't find anything else...these cars are not common at all in Alaska so I have to pay a slight premium. Can you give me more info on the TSB? Assuming it hasn't been done and is out of warranty can it still get done for free? Can I just call the dealer with the vin and find out if it was done?

Found the information on the TSB I had forgotten about that one. I will check into it. Owner says the car shifts perfect and has never had any issues. My gues is the previous owner before him had it done. Either way I will try and find out. Hell, it may have a t45

Prices seems a little high, but considering where you are, then thats alright. It very well might have a t45 in it, I know in 01 there were some that got the t45, but most got the 3650 Best of luck, sounds like a good car

Wow that's cheap. I would think there has to be something wrong with that car, salvage title or otherwise for that price.

There's more for around that price, I'll post up when I get to my room.

Gt's (99-04) range from 5.5k to 9k depending on miles and mods.

But then again I live in the bay area

I would say that is high also. I would not pay more than $8500, you might be able to find one in the lower 48 and have it shipped there for $9,800. Also is the car stock? I would only pay $8500 if it was in perfect condition with the exact mods I wanted the car to have or not have. I paid 10.5k for mine 2 and 1/2 years ago with 38k on the odo. Granted it had one dent in the driver's door but it was the best deal I could find at the time.

LOL In Alaska you can't touch a 97 or 98 with under 100k un modded for less than 6500 or so. And shipping up here is around 2700 bucks and that's not counting a plane ticket to go check the car out first I am just going to bite the bullet and go for it. I don't plan to sell it ANY time soon so I will be fine

Unless that Mach owner has a crack habit and is desperate to sell it then I'd lay serious money that Mach has been wrecked. He could easily sell it for $14K, even in today's market.

If that's how expensive things are up there then that's just the way it is. But you could at least try to talk him down and if its a dealership then that should be pretty easy to do.
