Ok, sorry that I'm so dumb, but where else do I learn?

Here's what happened:
I was getting on the on-ramp to the highway. I gunned it in 1st and shifted very quickly to 2nd at about 5800rpm. I dropped the clutch while shifting, I didn't let it out slow like normal. The car acted like I let the clutch out VERY slow, the rpm's went down to about 3000 until I started to accelerate again. My foot was not touching the clutch, it was completely engaged. The engine acted like the wheels were spinning, but I didn't feel anything weird. I thought I smelt a weird smell after that incident. My car is stock except for a cat-back, plenum, tb, shocks and springs, and a k&n drop in . I have nice big 285 rear tires for traction. I bought the car 2,000 miles ago and now it has 64,000 miles. Was it my clutch, was I spinning the tires, or was my foot on the clutch even though I'm certain it wasn't?

Again, I'm sorry that I even have to ask this question. Please don't flame me lol...

The way you worded it makes it sound as if the clutch was slipping. If you keep driving like that it will just get worse.

Ok, yea, I've never really drove the car that hard before, so it's never happened. It was kind of scary. A better clutch like the King Cobra would prevent this, right? I mean, I'd be fine with an entry-level aftermarket clutch?

Yep, just put a king cobra in there. Centerforce and clutchmasters are good also.
